George R.R. Martin once said, “A reader lives a thousand lives before [they die] . . . The [person] who never reads lives only one.”
(I added the brackets because we don’t really speak a language anymore in which the masculine is the stand-in for all people.) The truth of what George Martin was conveying is definitely timeless. I have lived all over the world through books, from the prehistory of the Neolithic to the future of science fiction.
In fact, one of my favorite science fiction authors once said,
You don’t have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.
Ray Bradbury
I’m in the process of writing books right now, the first one is for sale here on this page. My mentor of nearly twenty years also has a book for sale, a really terrific Bible study, on this website’s book page and at The Book Patch, as well.
