1 Peter 1, Spiritual DNA

To borrow an analogy, this birth from above alters the spiritual DNA of a person, so that along with the privilege and responsibility of divine parentage comes the Fatherโ€™s own genetic characteristics, Godโ€™s holiness and Godโ€™s ability to love, everything a believer needs to fulfill the call of God.

1 John 5: The One True God

Fellowship with God and assurance of eternal life is guaranteed only through the Lord Jesus Christ.

John 11: Jesus Develops Martha’s Faith

I read a book a while ago called, Where Is God When Bad Things Happen? Written by Luis Palau. As you can imagine from the title, the author talks about the traumas and tragedies that you and I experience in life, and why God seems to allow them. Where was God? What was God doing? What is God doing? Thatโ€™s what Martha and Mary were wondering in this story, and probably Jesusโ€™s disciples, too.

2 Peter 2: Righteous? Really?

1 Peter 1: Prophetic Mystery

Worship and praise are the natural overflow of Godโ€™s perspective, for you and I can experience joyful confidence and triumphant thanksgiving in the movement and purposes of God.

Minor Prophets: Habakkuk’s Commitment

God's majesty, God's glory made all else recede, so that Habakkuk was focused on God, not on his current circumstances, nor the dreadful times to come.

Gospel of John: Choose Life

In Genesis chapter 1, Godโ€™s word divided the light from the darkness. So now, Jesus, the Word and the Light, came into the world and divided those who love the Light from those who embrace the darkness.

Gospel of John: Heal, Not Hurt

The Lord sees the evil that mars Godโ€™s creation and destroys the people God loves, and the Lord intends to get rid of it. Godโ€™s wrath consumes evil and wickedness not as the opposite of Godโ€™s love, but as the expression of Godโ€™s love.

Gospel of John: Lifted Up

Jesus depicted himself in the bronze serpent Moses had lifted up to save people from the poisonous serpents that had overrun their camp.
